Jan. 13th, 2006 12:50 pmGot two-week, 50-song free trial at eMusic this morning. Will most likely be cancelling before the free trial is up.
The good: downloads in straight-up MP3 format. No DRM, no proprietary player required, plain old MP3. Win.
The bad: Couldn't even find 50 songs I really wanted. Mostly indie... and really obscure indie at that. Some NIN, some Butthole Surfers, some Bauhaus, some classic rock, a handful of other big name stuff, they had Cocteau Twins but not the Cocteau Twins I wanted... fuck's sake, people, you could at least give me some Boards.
So I got some Mum (Finally We Are No One), some Buckethead (Kaleidoscalp), and the soundtrack to American McGee's Alice.
They do have a lot of George Carlin, but it's all shit I already have. Poo.
